[Voices from Alumni] Historical Event Coming Soon in Sri Lanka
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We received a detailed letter from Mr. Nalaka Lankasena, a Sri Lankan ex-participant of CIA Course. Let us introduce a summary of his mail.
Besides his usual work as a systems analyst at UGC (University Grants Commission), Nalaka-san has been working on the preparation for a nation-wide, historical project.
On March 14 and 15, they will host an event where they will offer 300,000 lotus flowers to wish for world peace and respect the qualities of Buddha. In parallel, they are going to write a cultural history of a huge stupa in granite plaques which weighs about 7,000kg.
According to their plan, thousands of people will attend the event and pray for the world peace. The project is inviting all Sri Lankan to have the same wish at 17:00, March 14. This event will be live on TV and will be broadcasted on the Internet later on.
Well, regardless of your religion or beliefs, we suppose world peace is one of the common targets of humans. If you favor this idea, please send your blessings at 17:00 on March 14! Sri Lanka time is 6 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +6).
